After being stuck in development hell for over a decade, the long-awaited return of The Shadow is finally close at hand!
Being produced by Robert Zemeckis and directed by Joe Johnston under Universal Pictures, the new movie titled The Shadow: City of Fear focuses on the storyline from the original pulp novel “The Shadow: The Black Master” written by Walter B. Gibson under the pen name Maxwell Grant. In the film adaptation, The Shadow must uncover the truth of who is blowing up Grand Central Station and Columbus Circle before further tragedy strikes New York City.
Tom Ellis from the TV series Lucifer has been cast to play billionaire socialite Lamont Cranston and his eponymous alter ego The Shadow. As for The Shadow’s longtime partner and lover Margo Lane, actress Amanda Seyfried (Jennifer’s Body, Mamma Mia!) has been chosen.
Details are still developing on the casting of Detective Joe Cardona, Inspector James Burke and Shadow Agent Harry Vincent, but we’ll update you as soon as we find out!
